Order fees

Most of what you pay Tryvio is your plan and, if you go over it, your per-try-on overage. There is one more line: an order fee on orders that Tryvio actually helped grow.

Today there is one order fee, and it applies to Tryvio upsell orders.

What counts as a Tryvio upsell order

An order qualifies for the fee in either of two ways:

  1. The order used your Tryvio bundle discount code. If the shopper checked out with the discount code Tryvio generates for your Complete the Look bundle, that’s the qualification — however the shopper got to that cart.
  2. No bundle discount is configured, but the shopper tried the look on. If your store’s bundle discount is set to 0%, there is no code to check — instead the order qualifies when, in one shopping session, a shopper tried on a product, was offered a second product to go with it, tried both on together (“Try them on together”), and bought both.

What the fee is charged on

The fee is a percentage of the order’s subtotal after discounts, before shipping and tax — the whole order, not just the two products in the outfit.

An example: a shopper tries on a jacket, then tries the jacket and a scarf together, and buys both plus a pair of socks. The order subtotal after the bundle discount is $180. On the Growth plan the order fee is $1.80.

Custom plans carry the rate agreed in your contract — see custom plans.

When it is charged

  • Order fees are billed through Shopify Usage Charges, the same mechanism as overage, so they land on your regular Shopify invoice. Tryvio never charges you outside Shopify.
  • They share your plan’s monthly spending cap with overage. They do not have a separate cap, and they never pause your try-on widget. If a fee has no room left under the cap this month, it isn’t dropped — it carries over and is billed on a later invoice, labelled with the month it came from (for example carried from August 2026), so a bigger bill always explains itself. Fees are charged oldest first, so a carried fee is never pushed back by newer ones.
  • During the 14-day free trial order fees are shown but not charged. They are only billed once your paid subscription is active.
  • An order that is fully refunded before the fee is charged is not billed at all. A partial refund reduces the subtotal the fee is calculated on. A refund issued after the fee has already been charged is not reversed.

Where to see them

In your Tryvio dashboard, open Account → Plan & billing. The Charges this billing period box shows Order fees this period with the amount and how many orders carried a fee — $0.00 (0 orders) when none did. Your usage-threshold emails carry the same figure once it is above zero.

If you already had Tryvio before order fees existed

Order fees apply to subscriptions approved on or after the date the fee was introduced. If your plan was approved before that, your existing terms continue to apply and you are not charged an order fee — Shopify requires your approval for any change to what a subscription can bill you, and we do not bill against terms you have not seen. If we ever ask you to approve updated terms, the order fee is named in them, and until you approve, nothing changes.

This is forward-only: whether an order carries a fee is decided at the time we look at that order, and that decision never changes afterwards. So approving updated terms only affects orders placed after you approve — anything that qualified before your approval is written off and will never be billed, even though it once qualified.

If the rate changes

We publish one rate per plan and quote it on every pricing page, in the app, and in the Terms. A reduction takes effect straight away. An increase is announced in advance and, where Shopify requires it, only applies after you approve the updated usage terms — until then your existing rate continues to apply.

Don’t want order fees at all? Turn off outfit suggestions in Complete the Look — that removes both your bundle discount code and the “Try the look” offer, so no order has a way to qualify. You keep every other Tryvio feature.
